Public benefits

The direct benefits that flow from this purpose are the improvement of understanding and appreciation of poetry among the general public and the advancement of education in students studying the practice of poetry. These benefits are evidenced through the number of individuals attending public lectures, readings, and workshops given by the Chair

as well as the critical and public reception to these lectures published by the Chair. There is no harm anticipated from this purpose. The intended beneficiaries are the general public throughout the island of Ireland, as well as students studying at involved universities. There is no private benefit flowing from the purpose of our organization.

What your organisation does

The Ireland Chair of Poetry Trust appoints a Chair of Poetry who gives public lectures, workshops, seminars and educational programmes throughout the island of Ireland.
