The direct benefits which flow from these purposes include: learning a new skill, reduction in social isolation, reduced anxiety and stress, mental stimulation, increased enjoyment of life, the promotion of participation and the integration of those with disability by the provision of a range of educational, social and recreational activities

mainly bases in Carnlough WI hall. The beneficiaries are the general public and members of Carnlough WI in the local community in the Carnlough district and other neighbouring communities within County Antrim. The public are provided with the opportunity to avail of activities that assist and improve their educational attainment, health and social interaction which would not normally be available to them. Many of these activities are organised in association with other statutory and voluntary organisations e.g. provision of first aid training, information on farm/agriculture safety, old time dancing and line dancing, cake icing, soap making. An annual fee is charged for membership of the WI. There is no harm arising from this purpose.

What your organisation does

Monthly meetings at which we organise speakers and demonstrations. We help to run a Vintage Day each year in the local Integrated primary School, selling crafts made by the members of Carnlough WI, plants and flower arrangements, cakes, jams etc. Carnlough WI holds social events for members and the general public on an annual basis at a Vintage

day in the village of Carnlough – demonstrating for example, butter making, flower arranging, making felt broaches, exhibits of pictures making with sea weed and jewellery making.

Charitable purposes

OBJECTIVES The main objectives of the Institute is to enable women to take more effective part in local community life and development For the purpose of furthering the said objective the CARNLOUGH Women's Institute shall make provision for the fuller development of its members order to stimulate interest locally CARNLOULGH Women's Institute shall be strictly non-parfy political and non-sectarian, and no parly political or sectarian matter may be discussed at any Instifute meeting. Monthly meetings of an educational and social nature shall be held on a regular day, at anhour and place decided by the members.
