The direct benefits provided by Omagh Quilters’ Guild are that through the members who are people living in Omagh and the surrounding areas expand their expertise for the advancement of the arts. It enables the members to connect, engage and contribute to the local community sharing skills, quilting techniques and tools to create art which can be

exhibited throughout the community promoting quilting and organising and holding activities for members and the wider community. Valuable skills and quilting techniques are taught and shared between members and new skills are learnt, helping to sustain and preserve this part of our community’s culture for future generations; activities are provided that give participants opportunities to avail of skills that assist in improving their levels of social interaction, wellbeing and general quality of life, through accessing workshops, tools and engagement that would not normally be readily available to them. The benefits of Omagh Quilters Guilds’ activities are demonstrated by measurement of numbers attending the workshops, classes and fortnightly meet-ups, receiving feedback from participants and through engaging with the wider community by donating complex pieces produced by the members of Omagh Quilters Guild. Omagh Quilters’ Guild is a safe space for all who attend. The beneficiaries of the Omagh Quilters’ Guild are our members and other persons who attend our activities and those who receive pieces made by guild members living within Omagh and surrounding district. Omagh Quilters’ Guild Trustees can participate in all activities and this is incidental and necessary to ensure that all eligible members of the community can potentially avail of these and benefit.
