- The direct benefits flowing from the purposes are that the inhabitants of Maghera and its environs have access to modern, comfortable, secure community facilities for a wide range of leisure activities. - Local Mother & Toddlers come together weekly - SureStart provide a daily programme in the building looking after the needs of pre-school
children particularly those from a disadvantage background. - Barnardos and Women's Aid hold regular meetings looking after the needs of individuals with mental health issues and women who may be encountering difficulties in the home. - A weekly luncheon Club provides up to 30 meals for the elderly. - The general population is served by a range of activities such as dances, tea dances, slimming activities, fitness activities and generally what is demanded by the public. The benefits can be demonstrated by the numbers of people attending each activity and feedback from participants. There is no harm arising from the purposes of the organisation. The Charity's beneficiaries are the residents of Maghera and its environs. There is no private benefits from any of the purposes.
What your organisation does
The organisation provides a facility in Maghera where community organisations can avail of space to provide a range of caring/educational/recreational activities. Activities included the provision of SureStart, Slimming Clubs, Luncheon Club for the elderly, Women's Aid meeting place, space for Mother & Toddler Group and regular Tea Dances for all
age groups. All groups are welcome for a reasonable cost for room hire.
