Public benefits

The direct benefits which flow from the purposes of the Playgroup are; the enhancement of the educational and social development of pre-pre-school children; the opportunity for parents to become more involved in their children’s play based learning ; the health and well- being of our children is promoted through our links with external agencies and

the provision of healthy foods each day; ; they provide children with the key early years skills to allow them to transfer into nursery school thereby giving them an good start to school. The benefits are evidenced through regular feedback from parents throughout the year, an end of year assessment of progress and annual social services inspection. There is no harm arising from any of these purposes. The charities beneficiaries are 2-3-year-old children from the local area. By carrying out our purposes, the children are well equipped and prepared to transition to their pre-school year. The purposes also benefit the parents of the children who attend. There is no private benefit flowing from the purposes.

What your organisation does

Black Mountain playgroup is a low cost pre pre school. We will provide 16 places in a safe and stimulating educational environment for 16 children. We will employ highly qualified and experienced staff .We will provide a high quality early years experience which will ensure that the children build the skills and resources needed to overcome

barriers to learning. The children will expand their social skills and experiences to develop resilience, build friendships and experience positive interactions. They will have access to healthy lifestyle options. We will build local and cross community links , hosting parent workshops and we will provide the opportunity for parents to return to work while their child is being cared for in our setting. We will follow a policy of inclusion which will offer the opportunity for children with Special Educational Needs to have access to pre pre school provision in line with their peers .

Charitable purposes

The Playgroup is established to promote played based learning environments for all children in their pre-pre statutory school year, (hereinafter referred to as the beneficiaries) of the Highfield Ward and it’s surrounding environs in County Antrim ( hereinafter referred to as ‘ the area of benefit), without distinction of age , gender, marital status, disability, sexual orientation, nationality, ethnic identity, political r religious opinion, by associating the the statutory authorities, community and voluntary organisations and the inhabitants in a common effort to advance education and in particular:- A) To advance the education of the beneficiaries through the provision of safe and satisfying group play, with the right of the parent/carers to take responsibility for and to become involved in the activities of the group B) To promote the preservation of the health of the beneficiaries C) To support the values and principals of Early Years education
