The direct benefits are: improvement of the area for all inhabitants regardless of gender, sexual orientation, age, disability, race, ethnicity, or political, religious or other opinion; improved community capacity, increased volunteering, and a stronger collective voice; improved quality of life where inhabitants within the area of benefit are

thriving and safe; improved education provision for children in the Bloomfield area and its environs; improved community cohesion in the Bloomfield area and its environs. These can be demonstrated through: through feedback from beneficiaries, government statistics or annual reports; increased numbers of people volunteering or using services; statistics on the range of activities, ages and interest groups using the centre. We believe that these purposes will lead to no clearly identified harm. The charity’s beneficiaries are inhabitants of Bloomfield and its environs. There may be private benefits from the provision of training and support, but these benefits would be incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries.

Bloomfield Community Association provides local community development support through programmes and activities such as: youth work, playgroup and after-schools programmes, women's groups, senior women's group. We also support local families with signposting to relevant services.

Charitable purposes

The Association's charitable purposes are to promote the benefit of the inhabitants of the area and its environs (the "area of benefit"), without distinction of gender, sexual orientation, age, disability, race, ethnicity, or political, religious or other opinion and specifically to: (1) Promote community development and citizenship by all or any of the following means: providing facilities for and organising community and family events in the interests of social welfare for recreation and other leisuretime occupations with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants; (ii) providing facilities, amenities and support to community and voluntary groups and organisations; (iii) facilitating improvements in housing, the environment and community safety; (iv) advancing active citizenship and volunteering in the community; (v) fostering a sense of community by encouraging and celebrating a sense of place and civic pride. (2) Relieve those in need by reason of youth, age, ill-health or other disadvantage. (3) Advance education for the public benefit by organising and/or delivering playgroup and afterschools services. (4) Promote good community relations, social inclusion and cohesion, religious and racial harmony and equality and diversity.
