Public benefits
Purpose 1: Improved relationships between home and school The benefit which flows from this purpose includes funding for additional resources for the school and links built with the local community. This is demonstrated through having an active PTA that works in partnership with the school and engages parental support. This purpose does not lead to
harm. Purpose 2: Advancing the education of pupils in the school The benefit which flows from this purpose includes increased educational progress and attainment of pupils in the school and links built with the local community. This is demonstrated through pupils having access to resources, events, activities and links with the local community which are not available through direct school funding. This purpose does not lead to harm. The benefit is for children at Mary Queen of Peace Primary School. Charity trustees (PTA committee members) are usually also parents at the school which their children attend and hence gain benefit in the same way as all other beneficiaries. This benefit is incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to all beneficiaries.
What your organisation does
Mary Queen of peace PTA was formed in October 2016. This group is made up of elected parents and staff to form the committee. As a group we aim to include all parents and staff in our operation. We will do this by inviting parents and staff to share their skills and help at our events. Our PTA has organized many fundraising social events
throughout the school years which are open to pupils, parents, family, friends and the wider local community. We have held a Family Bingo fundraiser, Table Quiz and summer and Hallowe'en Disco’s, Hallowe'en family fun, Cash for clobber, Christmas Card pupil designs prints, event Hampers, black bag recycling and we have many more to fundraising events ideas for the future. We provide catering and help to serve at Grandparents Day, Communion, Confirmation and together with any other events or matters to which we can support the school and the families of the pupils within the school. We believe that good communication is the key to our PTA success and we publish newsletters and information on the school website. We work closely with local community businesses and welcome their support and participation at our events. The PTA agrees expenditure of funds raised with the school principal to ensure the maximum benefit to all our pupils.
