Public benefits

The direct benefits flowing from purpose 1 include access to regular Christian worship gatherings, which are informal and welcoming, providing access to Christian learning and experiences, designed to encourage and empower individuals to live a better life through faith. Haven Coalisland is made up of individuals of various ages and community

backgrounds, allowing engagement and sharing from a large range of faith experiences. The direct benefits flowing from purpose 2 include the creation of a community which provides for those in need, both through gatherings and personal pastoral care, supporting those dealing with loneliness, financial troubles, addictions, bereavement and mental or physical health problems. This is not limited to those who attend the worship gatherings. The direct benefits flowing from purpose 3 include opportunities for families and children to spend time together, gain new experiences and have fun. This also benefits the town of Coalisland by bringing more people into the area and by forming links among the various community and voluntary groups. The benefits from each of these purposes can be demonstrated in the numbers of attendees at gatherings. Also through informal feedback, verbal and written evaluations and participation of individuals as volunteers in the events and gatherings that are organised. There is no potential harm arising from these purposes. Haven Coalisland benefits the general public, with a focus on those in the Coalisland area. There is no private benefit flowing from these purposes.

What your organisation does

Haven Coalisland provides: 1) Regular opportunities for Christian worship, prayer, service, sharing and learning through gatherings in public spaces or homes. These gatherings are open to everyone without discrimination on any terms, and take the form of services, discussion groups, prayer times, courses or social events and meals. 2) Support for

those who are in emotional, physical or spiritual need. This is provided through our gatherings, drop-in events or through personal pastoral care. We also seek to signpost individuals towards other sources of support. Haven Coalisland assists other organisations who are in a similar support role, both locally and further afield, through financial donations, prayer and encouragement. 3) Community events, working alongside other local community and voluntary groups to plan and run family fun days, courses and events to benefit the wider community and town of Coalisland as a whole.
