the direct benefits which flow from our purposes include improving equality and eliminating discrimination in our community, to be all inclusive, identify role models, to advocate for our community in areas of housing and policing issues, to provide opportunities to learn new skills and improve on existing ones through our development and capacity
courses, to bring together people from different backgrounds in a supportive and friendly way. the benefits can be evidenced by the number of people who attend the various groups, events and projects. we have people and children attend these events and groups from various backgrounds, inc pul, cnr, as well the new communities to our area, including lgbt and disabled, we are inclusive to anybody living within our area. benefits also include increased self esteem and confidence in our volunteers and attendees that ripples out into the community and their own families, therefore for many improving their quality of life. there is no harm arising from any of the purposes the charities beneficiaries are all those attending any event or program or group such as youth group or women's group, the health and well being group or one off events, all of whom live in the area of interest and surrounding area there is no private benefit for any of our volunteers, however, many take part or facilitate in the events (such as family summer fun day), programs (such as first aid, mindfulness etc) or groups (childrens group is run by a mother and grandmother in the area, womens group is trun by local women) . this is incidental and necessary
What your organisation does
The committee meet monthly, we operate and are totally reliant on our volunteers from within the community. We run a womens group, an older womens group a childrens group, a reading room group (for men and women), a health and well being group (for men and women) at the present time. We also organsie activities and programs around Christmas,
easter, summer holidays,. We are very family orientated (in whatever form a family takes) and try to bring the adults together as well as the children and young people. We get support from the local housing executive who provide the house for our centre, from the local council, the PCSP, we attend inter agency meetings and policing partnership meetings. we are meeting in the new year to do a plan for the coming year 2020
