We will also be using satisfaction surveys to gauge the effectiveness of our overall project and to allow us to review our processes. To build an individual plan with service users who wish to set goals on a personal level this will include a private baseline survey and tailored activities to suit the needs of the individual. The use of area statistics through government and local bodies. We will conduct a community environment survey of the service users to gauge perceptions of the area this will serve as a baseline going forward so we can show improvement over time. Education will be measured with a baseline test. We identified possible harm from Bee stings and the use of hand tools or electrical garden tools we have mitigated this by making sure our staff/volunteers are trained in both first aid and the use of Epi-pens and that a robust health and safety policy as well as training and safety information for the service users and the use of proper safety equipment. What your organisation does
We are a new charity with big plans. Phase 1 will see a purpose-built area for allotments, vegetable plots, gardening, chickens, beehives, and community hub to run the project out of. The health of the community will be our top priority and through our research, we have seen the benefits of gardening on a wide range of health issues from mental
health right up to physical health. We plan to bring young and old together on all projects, we will be running a home gardening team this will act as an outreach for those with ill health, old age or a disability, we will link with schools and give them a space to grow fruit and vegetables, learn while they do it, and follow the progress over the summer through our school project summer scheme, when time to harvest the school will benefit from everything grown, the children will be able to have healthy dinners grown by themselves. The skills exchange program will see the community come together and use the skills they have developed throughout their lives to better the community and pass on to others. we will invite any other community groups or charities who might benefit from our projects. We live in an area with lower life expectancy our goal is to improve that through education about healthy living and giving those in need free fruit, vegetables, eggs and honey we hope to get referrals from the local food bank where we will be able to provide a fresh healthy option when it is available. We will work towards the goal of becoming a zero-waste community we plan to reduce the amount of waste going to landfills through re-using everything possible, composting, reducing single-use bags by repurposing them and making reusable tote bags. we want to bring awareness to the environment, biodiversity and the ecosystem through education, actively cleaning up the community, keeping bees and chickens to improve the environment for everyone in the community, This project will welcome everyone from the community
