The direct benefits flowing from the organisation's purpose is improved educational achievement, raised aspiration and self-esteem which will lead to greater employability and opportunity of employment and greater wellbeing of participants The benefits will be demonstrated through consultation and feedback from participants, evaluations of all

activities and records of numbers participating in all activities and events. All such data would be published in the Annual Report and Year Book and available on our IT management system for independent inspection. Records kept for 7-10 years as required The purposes of our charity will not lead to any harm The beneficiaries of the charity are the inhabitants of Killyleagh and its hinterland, in particular but not exclusively disadvantaged youth. A private benefit to trustees may arise from participating in activities. Trustees may gain skills and experience which are transferable to other settings. These benefits are incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries

What your organisation does

We carry out the purpose of the organisation through the provision of educational experiences through a range of enjoyable social interaction routes, which will be available to all residents and visitors within Killyleagh and its hinterland, in particular, but not exclusively, disadvantaged youth. We promote opportunities for participation widely

and actively encourage individuals and groups to become involved. Programmes are inclusive and open to all irrespective of gender, age, race, culture or ability. We run workshops and courses such as art, language, literature and craft workshops. Exhibitions in art, history, culture and heritage. We house a small museum display and botanical garden area. We run social events such as coffee mornings and music recitals . We support local crafts people as an outlet for their goods and host various social groups such as the Friendship Group for senior citizens and a youth group. Locals and visitors can avail of all displays for free and they are invited to enjoy the use of the patio area to help themselves to tea and coffee and browse the available books. Daily we rely on the goodwill of our community to support the Centre by staffing it as volunteers , making donations and attending the ticketed events. We apply for grants to run a selection of activities such as children's science club and summer scheme, exam practice and english as a second language.

Charitable purposes

To promote learning for pleasure for the benefit of the public, in particular but not exclusively disadvantaged youth, in Killyleagh and surrounding areas, through the continued development of their individual capabilities, competencies, skills and understanding in subjects of educational value, by providing formal and informal educational programmes in the fields of history, science and environment, with particular focus on STEM.
