Public benefits
The direct benefits which flow from Little Treasures Playgroup purposes are the provision of play based learning environment for children under statutory school age, in the Kinawley, Killesher and Florencecourt areas of County Fermanagh and include improved learning outcomes for the children attending, plus opportunities for social integration and
emotional well being. Other benefits include strong connections with parents/carers of the children attending playschool, and links to wider community activity in the area. These benefits are demonstrated by feedback received from parents/carers, detailed observations carried out by staff daily, and by the inspections process carried out by the Education Training Inspectorate and yearly inspections undertaken Western Health & Social Care Trust. The purpose of the playgroup is beneficial to both children and their families and there is no harm flowing from our purposes. The beneficiaries of Little Treasures Playgroup are the children who attend this playgroup and their parents/carers. The only private benefit flowing from our purposes are that Little Treasures Playgroup Trustees family members can attend the playgroup and trustees can receive training in financial procedures, committee skills, child protection, first aid etc., this is incidental and necessary to ensure that all members of the area can potentially benefit and high standards of governance for the playgroup are maintained. In the playgroup's case, the salaries paid to our three employees are clearly necessary in order to carryout our purposes.
What your organisation does
Little Treasures Playgroup was set up in 1988 by members of the local community, in response to requests from parents for the provision of locally based pre-school education and play. The group is run by a voluntary committee, and is based in Little Treasures Playgroup, Kinawley. Little Treasure Playgroup works closely to enable each child to
progress and learn through play to the best of their ability. Little Treasures Playgroup is registered with Western Health & Social Care Trust and is also part of the Education Authority Pre-school Playgroup Expansion Programme, which provides a funded place for all children in their immediate preschool year. Little Treasure Playgroup follows the Early Years Curriculum, which supports children in all six areas of learning: language, early maths, art, the world around us, and physical, personal, social and emotional development. The setting provides a broad and balanced range of opportunities and activities to promote confidence, independence and stimulation. The preschool setting also supports children with additional needs and children with English as their second language.
