Public benefits
The direct benefits which flow from this purpose includes the safeguarding of children at all times and the enabling of children, irrespective of their ability/disability to attain their fullest possible potential in education, social, physical and emotional development within a learning environment which is friendly and child centred. There are
further benefits to the local community by the securing and provision of education and recreational facilities, an increase in partnership work and increased engagement with statutory bodies. The benefits are demonstrated by the number of children attending the playgroup, the range of services accessed and provided, the quality of care provided and the progression towards targets set (realistic challenges). This is demonstrated by feedback/statistics received from internal evaluation and via independent evaluation from statutory bodies (such as HSC Early Years Team), funding agents, general public and others. This purpose does not lead to harm. The charity’s beneficiaries are children in their preschool year irrespective of class, creed, gender, ethnic background, ability or perceived political belief of their parents/carers who live in the Forkhill area and surrounding environs A private benefit flowing from this purpose may occur were a Trustee gains skills and experience (through training / education) which are transferrable to other settings. This benefit is incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries
What your organisation does
Established in 1983 we are a locally based and community managed Preschool Playgroup, located in the community centre on the Bog Road, Forkhill. We provide our service 5 days per week (9.00 a.m until midday) Monday to Friday. Parents/Carers are encouraged to take an active role in the Group and are regularly provided with relevant information
regarding group activities, interests, themes and celebration of achievements. We recruit, train and support staff and volunteers to deliver our services and engage with partner agencies to provide practical assistance and support services for the benefit of our preschool children
