What your organisation does
Extend the reach and impact of the arts by, identifying gaps and barriers to community arts participation in order to increase access. Developing and delivering high quality arts programs that bring about positive individual and social change. Work towards developing a well-rounded community arts sector by, actively pursuing opportunities to
address community arts need and taking a lead role in identifying funding. Advocate for creativity by, increasing understanding of how investing in creativity enriches people and places. Support quality community arts experience by, encouraging mutual knowledge and skill s sharing between artists and partner organizations , increasing capacity, quality and best practice and challenging them to engage in new projects and art forms. Our mission is to positively transform individuals, communities and the spaces they share through community-based, high quality arts engagement and participation. Our work seeks to maximise individual learning, empowerment and active citizenship through creative and cultural engagement and participation. Collaboration and partnership is core to what we do. We have worked for over 10 years with communities, local authorities and artists to develop and create a rich portfolio of work with lasting cultural and social legacies. We focus on those who have least access to arts and culture, benefiting some of the most hard to reach individuals and groups in the community. Our participants include those affected by disability, lack of resources or encouragement, rural isolation and other personal or social circumstances. Our three main strands of activity allow us to: - Enable young people to engage and participate in creative arts activities - Develop arts based initiatives for adults and elders to improve their health and well-being. - Respond to real community needs and concerns within our local area through direct, locally provided project activity.
