Public benefits

Peatlands Playgroup provides a pre-school provision for children of The Birches and the surrounding area of Co Armagh. We benefit the village of The Birches and surrounding area by giving their children the best possible start to their education and preparing them for primary school. We provide a safe and stimulating environment in which children

from all backgrounds can acquire the skills and attitudes to become individuals and successful learners. We are a community service where parents from all backgrounds can become involved through fund-raising, joining the committee, courses, and trips, enabling isolated parents and new parents to meet others. We follow the best practice values and principles of early years education. The benefits identified can be demonstrated through inspections from both social services and the Department of Education which detail the effectiveness of the group. We are award ward winning playgroup. There is no harm arising from any of the purposes. The charity's beneficiaries are preschool children and wider community. The private benefit that flows from the purpose is that staff are paid appropriately and various businesses e.g. ASDA, Power NI, and local shops and services, however these are incidental and necessary.
