Public benefits
The benefits that flow from the purposes are the appreciation of arts, theatre and culture, the education of language, history and music, the physical advantages of walking and badminton as well as the effect on social isolation for members who live alone. Keeping minds and bodies active in the later stages of life and the creation of social
opportunities are the over-arching benefits and the regularity of programmed activities provides members with confidence and assurances that affect wellbeing issues in both mental and physical areas. These are all provided for a low cost annual membership fee which would otherwise be much more expensive if pursued commercially. These benefits will be evidenced by the sustainability of group activities and the numbers attending each. Increasing general membership creating opportunities to develop a wider range of activities will be a demonstration of how successful the benefits are. There is no harm arising from the purposes. The beneficiaries are retired and semi-retired people in the Banbridge district including the surrounding rural areas and villages such as, but not exclusively, Loughbrickand, Gilford, Donaghacloney, Katesbridge and Annaclone. There are no private benefits flowing from the purposes.
