Public benefits

Members of our local community will receive life-saving care to a range of medical emergencies, as laid down by the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service, pending the arrival of the ambulance service To have volunteers trained to a proper standard to provide lifesaving care to people with a range of medical emergencies in their community. Life-saving

equipment in local communities that can be used to provide life-saving care. Awareness of Cardiac Arrest, choking, unconsciousness, life-saving skills given to more people in the community through awareness training of community groups. NWCFR volunteers providing comfort to family members during stressful medical emergencies. Communities right across the North West of Northern Ireland from the West of Londonderry to Coleraine will benefit from the development of this scheme. Records of NWCFR attending medical emergencies in local communities having been dispatched by Northern Ireland Ambulance Service. Records of community volunteers registered with the group and evidence of the volunteers attending regular training to improve and update life-saving skills. Feedback from families of people who have been helped by NWCFR Evidence of community awareness training by the group for life-saving skills in relation to cardiac arrest, choking and unconsciousness. There is no harm arising from any of the purposes. The beneficiaries are anyone in the community who is having a medical emergency as laid down by the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service as appropriate for assistance by a trained Community First Responder. There is no private benefit flowing from any of the purposes.

What your organisation does

We will recruit, co-ordinate and equip local volunteers who will be trained and alerted by the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service to assess and provide an appropriate intervention to those with life threatening medical emergencies in their localities. They will provide, as appropriate, resuscitation including use of a defibrillator, care and

support pending the arrival of an emergency ambulance, which will be dispatched simultaneously with the first responders.

Charitable purposes

The charity's purposes ('the purposes') are • To set up and operate a volunteer-led community first responder scheme • To provide life-saving care to people with any of a range of medical emergencies, as laid down from time to time by the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service, in our communities, pending the arrival of the ambulance service • To recruit, co-ordinate and equip local volunteers who will be trained and alerted by the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service to assess and provide an appropriate intervention to those with medical emergencies, in our localities • To provide, as appropriate, resuscitation including use of a defibrillator, care and support pending the arrival of an emergency ambulance, which will be dispatched simultaneously with the first responders • To provide CPR and defibrillation training for all age groups and all localities, to broaden the range of responders and further reduce the risk of death from cardiac arrest.
