What your organisation does

The North Belfast Play Forum is a not for profit community based organisation that was established in 1995 to cater for the needs of children and young people living in the North Belfast area. The group undertakes many programmes, initiatives and activities that help assist young people in leading prominent lives within their community and

developing their educational, social and personal capacity through a range of sporting, recreational and culturally diverse programmes. The group provides a significant service for the local community (and children and young people specifically) considering the extensive disadvantage and socio-economic issues experienced by a large portion of residents and the need to develop programmes and initiatives to help counteract many of these problems. NBPF is committed to ensuring its activities are based on the needs identified by the local community, thereby creating a sense of widespread community involvement in activities that young people and adults actually want to become involved in and feel they can benefit from most. Using sport for social change is a key part of our work. The NBPF currently employ a full time Development Manager who oversees the operation of the organisation.
