What your organisation does

Killylea is a rural area with no organised activities for younger people. At one time the area had three youth clubs, but unfortunately there is now just one. Young people in this area have been involved in anti-social behaviour and bullying. Through the youth club we mentor and support young people to grow and develop, form relationships with

peers, learn new skills, including cooking, environmental skills and games. We also support the young people to take pride in their village and area, promoting citizenship. Our weekly group of 2hours each Friday night, offers a number of activities; this ensures that all who attend get an equal opportunity to take part in everything. This includes outdoor activities such as Football, netball, and indoor activities such as cooking, table hockey, crafts and internet games. We offer three annual trips, to areas such as bowls, outdoor skiing and ice hockey to all members, this supports inclusion and community engagement and provides young people with new experiences. We have talks from different charities every quarter. Our last one was air ambulance
