Access NI, fire safety, first aid and child protection training is in place. The charities beneficiaries are those within the Banbridge area who avail of the services provided. There is no private benefit flowing from any of these purposes.
What your organisation does
The charity carries out its purposes by a variety of means based within the J29 Project premises. • J29 Project provide a modern, purpose-built and neutral premise in the centre of Banbridge for a variety of community-based usage. The building is open throughout the week and is managed by a team of trained and qualified staff, volunteers and
trustees. • A range of community-engagement programmes are offered on a donation-only basis. Programmes are person-centred and where possible person-led. These range from family-support sessions, educational classes, mixed-media arts workshops, mental health programmes, physical activity sessions, food support and a variety of other activities on a seasonal basis. 1:1 pastoral meetings with staf and trained volunteers are offered as and where appropriate both in-house and in community settings. • Working in collaboration with other registered charities to provide a dedicated, safe-space for young people in the Banbridge area currently operating in our purpose-built youth centre. • Facilitating local community groups, statutory bodies and other charitable organisations by providing a neutral venue for meetings, courses and various training. • Equipping volunteers and those currently unemployed or not in full-time education with some of the necessary skills and training in order to serve within the charity and also put these skills to use in gaining employment or the furtherance of education. • Working in partnership with statutory bodies, agencies and other charities to ensure the views of the local community are effectively gathered, represented and articulated.
