their education, provide for their social welfare and facilitate social interaction all of which improve their conditions of life. The group members also work with their members, other local groups and representative agencies to raise awareness of the needs and experiences of persons living in the Ederney, Kesh and Lack areas and the benefits flowing from this are receiving support from other organisations to hold activities and delivery of services. The benefits of the group activities are evidenced by measurement of numbers attending activities and feedback from participants. There is no harm flowing from the purposes of Open Door Centre (Ederney). The beneficiaries of the group are the inhabitants of Ederney, Kesh and Lack areas in County Fermanagh and surrounding district. The only private benefit flowing from the group purposes are that Open Door Centre (Ederney) trustees and their families can participate in all activities and this is incidental and necessary to ensure that all eligible members of the community can potentially avail of these and benefit.

What your organisation does

The Open Door Centre (Ederney) undertake a number of actions to fulfil our purposes, examples being: • Offering opportunity for people to ‘Drop in’ for cup of tea/coffee, scones, chat, newspapers, TV and internet at the Townhall, Ederney; • Our members are a mixed age group from twenties to eighties; • Signposting for specialist advice/ support

e.g. citizens advice; • Keep active games; • Talks/presentations by visiting speakers e.g. fire service, PSNI crime prevention, health and wellbeing, first aid, local history, story tellers, music therapy, basket making, yoga, chair exercise, home security, art classes etc.; • Visits to similar groups locally and cross border; • Educational visits/outings to places of interest in NI and Republic with full tour guide support for above adding considerably to the quality and educational value of experience; • Computer classes both on Apple and PC platforms; • All activities are geared towards contributing to positive mental health and general wellbeing within our community Our members meet regularly to plan activities and seek funding and other support required to operate the programme of activities for our beneficiaries.

Charitable purposes

The Association is established to relieve poverty, sickness and problems faced by the aged and to promote the benefit of the inhabitants of the Ederney, Kesh & Lack areas and its environs in County Fermanagh, hereinafter called the 'area of benefit', without distinction of age, gender, disability, sexual orientation, nationality, ethnic identity, class, marital status, political or religious opinion, by associating the statutory authorities, voluntary and community sector organisations and the inhabitants in a common effort to advance education, and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation or other leisure time occupation, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants.
