Public benefits
The direct benefits that flow from The Escapists purposes are that conditions of life for carers living within County Fermanagh are improved through the collective work undertaken by our association members to address the health, educational and recreational needs of these carers. The association members also work with their members, other local
groups and representative agencies to raise awareness of the needs and experiences of carers and the benefits flowing from this are receiving support from other organisations to hold activities and deliver services. The benefits of the association activities are evidenced by measurement of numbers attending activities and feedback from participants. There is no harm flowing from the purposes of The Escapists. The beneficiaries of the group are carers and the individuals who they care for living within County Fermanagh and surrounding district. The only private benefit flowing from the association purposes are that The Escapists Trustees can participate in all activities and this is incidental and necessary to ensure that all eligible members of the community can potentially avail of these and benefit.
What your organisation does
The Escapists are a group set up nearly 11 years ago to give unpaid carers, of adults and children, some METIME. Often theses roles carry a heavy burden and The Escapists gives carers a chance to concentrate on their own health and well-being. The Escapists run a wide and varied program of activities, from walking, mediation, crafts to talks on
holistic well-being. The Escapists are a well established group and meet once a week.
