Public benefits
The direct benefits flowing from our purposes are the protection and preservation of the emotional, mental and spiritual health of the inhabitants of Magherafelt and its surrounding areas. The provision of free therapeutic, recreational and social services benefits those who would not otherwise be able to avail of required or helpful care because
of lack of means and long NHS referral lists. The provision of a spiritual & social dimension to well-being benefits individuals with emotional, mental or spiritual needs - giving them access to a more holistic approach to their well-being, a beneficial alternative to the more strictly physical-psychological approach. These benefits can be evidenced in a number of ways: -The ‘trained’ pastoral counsellors/coaches/workshop facilitators will monitor and assess the client’s progress (or lack of progress) on a session to session basis - feedback gathered from clients & participants and using course evaluation forms - clients recommendation to others who may derive a benefit from our services. - increase in agency referrals to our services We provide training to participants in the safe operation of any tools and equipment used in our workshops ensuring they are capable of using the equipment safely and ensuring equipment is fit for purpose. Accidents are extremely rare and the benefits of our service outweigh any risks. The inhabitants of Magherafelt and its surrounding areas A private benefit to trustees may arise from our ongoing training & education programs. Through this trustees gain skills which are transferable to other settings. These benefits are incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries.
