Public benefits
The direct benefits that flow from this purpose will be to improve the lives of people who have been affected directly or indirectly by cancer and to promote early detection and advice on Cancer prevention methods to help save lives. To provide vital support and intervention services within Communities to the beneficiaries in need. The purpose and
benefit of our project is needed as a welcome drop in and safe space opportunity where people can come for immediate support and advice without having to wait until their next medical appointment. The trustees know the benefits of the purpose through evaluations, focus groups and surveys carried out directly with the beneficiaries. There is no harm flowing from this purpose. The beneficiaries of this purpose will be the whole family as unit male/female adults and children living with targeted areas. A private benefit is the ongoing training opportunities which are transferable to all settings and venues. These benefits are incidental and necessary to ensure the benefits the benefit is provided efficiently to our beneficiaries.
What your organisation does
This project uses a people-led, community based approach to provide a wrap-around, person-centred service which will improve mental, physical and emotional outcomes for cancer sufferers and their families/carers across the wider Derry/ Strabane District Council areas, Causeway Coast and Castlederg. The family unit will be supported to plan and
benefit from a range of supports in their own communities outside of a hospital environment. This programme will enable individuals/families to connect with their communities and each other, learn and share new skills and experiences and make choices that suit their own lives.
