Public benefits
Purpose 1: the advancement of education and protection of health among older people. The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include people learning new skills and continued good health. Purpose 2: provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation or other leisure-time occupation, with the object of improving the
conditions of life for older people. The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include giving local older people a safe environment to socialise, make new friends and take part in an Active Living programme, thus improving their quality of life. The beneficiaries are consulted about the planned programme and are actively involved. The beneficiaries enjoy the social interaction. Purpose 3: raise awareness among the general public of the needs and experiences of older people in the area of benefit. The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include informing local people of the needs of older people and relating their stories, encouraging people to be more aware of the older neighbours or people in the local community. Purpose 1: This benefit is evidenced by members taking part in health related programmes, informing members of access to various services etc. Purpose 2: These benefits are evidenced by the attendance of the beneficiaries at the club and feedback from them in our local church hall on a regular basis. Purpose 3: This is evidenced by the support from the general public when we are organising an event or fundraising. It encourages new members to come along. We do not anticipate any harm leading from the purposes of our charity. The beneficiaries are older people in the Omagh area. Purpose 1: There is no private benefit other than the beneficiaries gaining knowledge and the skills to improve their quality of life. Purpose 2: There is no private benefit other than beneficiaries being actively involved in their local community, thus improving their quality of life. Purpose 3: There is no private benefit other than people becoming more informed and aware of the needs of local older people. These benefits are incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries.
