Public benefits

The advancement of amateur sport:- The direct benefits flowing from this purpose include the advancement and promotion of the sport of gymnastics in Northern Ireland by providing greater opportunities for participation in a wide selection of disciplines, by encouraging and enabling all participants to progress and develop their skills according to

their ability and by continuing to improve the services and facilities provided to the Club’s beneficiaries. Other charitable purposes:- The Club meets this purpose by providing facilities for recreation and leisure-time occupation to the general public in Northern Ireland in the interests of social welfare. The direct benefits flowing from this purpose include improved conditions of life for those who take part in the Club’s activities by improving their physical health and fitness, their mental health, self-esteem and confidence and allowing them to develop relationships with like-minded people. These benefits can be demonstrated through the numbers taking part and progressing to award and competition level, through feedback from participants, parents and coaches and through regular evaluation of the services provided. There is no harm arising from any of the purposes as all relevant risk management, health and safety and child protection measures are implemented and activities are supervised by appropriately experienced and qualified coaches and volunteers. The beneficiaries are those children, young people and adults in Northern Ireland who are members of the Club, have attended an activity organised by the Club and/or are stakeholders in the development and promotion of gymnastics in Northern Ireland. While the Club may pay coaches for their services, it will only do so where the arrangement is necessary in the interests of the charity and its beneficiaries. Any personal benefit will be incidental and a necessary consequence of the Club conducting its charitable activities.
