Public benefits

The public benefits that flow from the purpose of urban and rural regeneration are: 1. The creation of employment opportunities, training and work experience opportunities for residents living in the local area, leading to a better quality of life for the beneficiaries. 2. the creation of new start up businesses leading to employment opportunities

and wealth creation for the local economy. 3. Enhanced knowledge about setting up and running small businesses. Evidence can be found in the reports presented by management to the Board at the Board meetings each month. Evidence can also be found in funders' evaluations of the activities of Dungannon Enterprise Centre. No harm arises from these purposes. Ethnic minorities General public in Mid Ulster and surrounding area Male and female entrepreneurs Tenants Unemployed and underemployed Voluntary and community sector Young people (12-25 year olds) Some private benefit is obtained by the owners of small businesses who rent units on favourable terms, but this is ancillary to the main purpose and is greatly outweighed by the gains in public benefit.
