The direct benefits from purpose 1 include improved knowledge among children of primary school age of he Bible and the merits of faith in Christ through the teachings of our teams and improved access to pastoral training (through financial help) which in turn empowers pastors to implement practical projects in their congregations.Our work provides

a sense of opportunity and dignity to fellow human beings in desperate situations, improved missionary work and encouraged participation in Christian missions in the UK and Ireland. Purpose 2 - benefit include improvements in: Medical care: where locals benefit from improved health due to e.g. the provision of de-worming tablets at clinic, subsidised medical costs when ill, care facilities etc Food: receipt of meals and alleviation of poverty amongst children leading to improved concentration and nutrition at school Education: improved facilities for those engaged in education including classrooms, books, stationery, computers,etc through practical or financial assistance or basic teacher training as well as reduced education costs through sponsorship Local economies: through access to temporary or more long term opportunities to earn money by working alongside our teams; or to financial training/micro finance projects to support local incomes, which will increase self sufficiency. Housing: through the provision of homes or building assistance to families brought to our attention as being in extreme need, and the provision of a home for abandoned or poor children. They be evidenced or demonstrated through; records of those who gain new employment, new homes, educational or other qualifications and overall improvements in localities as well as the numbers, motivation and feedback of missionary volunteers, other agencies in Kenya or, importantly, the local beneficiaries who testify to or work. We endeavour to ensure that no harm arises directly or indirectly, from any of our purposes. Our beneficiaries are the inhabitants of the Third World, and particularly those living in poverty in Kenya. There is no private benefit to unintended beneficiaries.

What your organisation does

Take teams from N.I. to do voluntary work among the poor in Nairobi - usually about 20-25 in team Run health clinics in slum schools - provide worming medication, ringworm cream etc and basic advice Work alongside slum school to support teachers and pupils. No government funding for these schools so in real need of help. We run daily feeding

programme for 250 children at this school - one meal daily Sponsor individuals and groups by paying school fees and visiting poorest homes with food packages Help with basic teacher training for teachers in slum schiools Support and part-fund project in Kibera slum set up to look after group of extremely needy families - we have sponsors in NI who pay monthly to sponsor these chn to attend school. Support a new programme to enable more slum dwellers to access college education Provide support for streetboys' rehabilitation centre - raising extra funds so that boys can be sent to schools which suit their needs, some more vocational, some more academic. Some have won scholarships to excellent schools. Renovate and repair school buildings in slums - buy materials and carry out the work. Build small houses in more rural areas for widows - identified to us by local pastors Run an annual Kids' Club to share Biblical stories and principles - up to 200 chn attend and participate enthusiastically. Build a new children's home which is now in operation and is staffed by Kenyans. All those going on our teams raise funds for this work - much of which is now ongoing throughout the year, not only when we visit in the summer.

“The Association is established to further the gospel of Jesus Christ and to relieve poverty in the ‘Third World’ beginning in Kenya and its neighbours in East Africa (described as the area of benefit in this document) and in particular: A. To partner with similar charities, NGOs, local churches and para-church organisations and Christian missions, in the area of benefit; B. To help medical care with babies or children born with HIV/AIDS C. To assist those in poverty with education costs, leading to establishing an education provision in the area of benefit D. To support Christian education and training E. To encourage and support our partners with their practical help to the poor and the disadvantaged. In particular in the areas of housing, clothing, health and food. F. To support local employment through local purchase in the area of benefit G. To encourage missionary interest and active participation in mission from the Christian community in UK and Ireland
