Public benefits
1. Advancement of education - The delivery of education and training in relation to conflict studies will make anyone aware of how to handle conflict and bring about the desired resolution. This will bring benefit to those studying the course as well as to those who have been directly affected. Clear and consistent resolution strategies once
implemented will bring quicker relief to conflict affected community/areas, thereby providing a global public benefit and a peaceful environment. The short courses will be taught in Northern Ireland as well as will have a branch in India and will mostly target people 21-40 years of age. In particular those from the Policing and Military sector would be direct beneficiaries. 2. Relief of Poverty - Those studying these courses will have additional certification which will attract better jobs and employment. This will benefit in terms of their higher salaries and such organisations will benefit from better decision making in conflict resolutions. In the longer run it will create more jobs and hence be relieving poverty. Further Surplus funds would be available with the charity purposes in relief of poverty. The direct benefits from the trust would be creating a peaceful environment with reduced levels of conflict in any community/region in the world. The other public benefit would be improved skills to those receiving knowledge based courses. The evidence of this can be seen through various newspaper articles and journals covering conflict affected community/areas. There is no harm or risk in practicing conflict management. There is no harm from our purposes. The beneficiaries of the Trust are general public living anywhere in the world and not specific to any region. However Northern Ireland and India would be find added advantage since the courses are being delivered here. There is no private benefit from our purposes.
What your organisation does
The Conflict Resolution Programme aims to develop an inclusive knowledge base that would help effectively address the major conflicts that affect countries or have the potential to do so. The conflicts could be at any level from local to national, regional and global. They could also be of varying degrees of intensity, ranging and complexity, from
a relatively simple case of disagreements between two groups, to conflicts that involve multiple groups and dimensions. The development of an inclusive knowledge base calls for a fully integrated program to be taught which will cover all those who are affected directly or indirectly by a specific conflict. The programs taught will deliver conceptual innovations that will build on the latest developments in the conceptualisation of conflicts from across the world. The programs taught will achieve its objectives by being sensitive to the interface between the understanding of individual conflicts and the larger conceptualisation of conflict. It will aim to build an inclusive knowledge base and then disseminate that knowledge in a way that influences both popular perceptions and policies aimed at conflict resolution. The knowledge delivery will be carried out through short-term courses on conflict resolution, targeted at all who may have to deal with social conflicts, whether in industry, government or civil society. ICS&RS will achieve its purposes by the delivery of well-planned and integrated short courses, targeted to impart education and create awareness and public benefit. In furthering the purposes, it will co-operate with other charities & voluntary bodies to establish support. It will also employ staff to manage the knowledge delivery system and administration and grant scholarships, travelling and other bursaries to those who are likely to benefit. It will make grants and provide facilities for those wanting to study, which in long term will create jobs and relieve poverty.
