The direct benefit which flows from the purpose is the provision of education to children under statutory school age. This includes preparation of each child for primary education via play based learning to develop the basic skills of expression, communication, problem solving, early mathematics, creativity, knowledge of the world around us,

physical development as well as the ability to relate to and communicate with other children and adults. This benefit is evidenced through feedback from parents/carers, monitoring by social services and the Early Years organisation. The children attending Busy Bees Pre-School benefit by: • Being better prepared for Primary school • Having an increased knowledge of basic education as they learn about the world around them, maths, science and technology, reasoning and language. • They get to integrate with other children and learn valuable social skills, develop positive attitudes towards themselves and to others. • They develop self confidence, creativity and problem solving skills. This purpose does not lead to any harm. The beneficiaries of this purpose are the children enrolled within the pre-school No private benefit arises from this purpose.

The organisation manages the day to day running of the activities of Busy Bees Pre-School Burren. It works closely with the pre-school leaders, the parents, the children, the Department of Health Services and the Early Years specialists to ensure that children are not only looked after but also encouraged to learn through play.

Charitable purposes

The Group is established to promote play based learning environments for all children under statutory school age (hereinafter referred to as the beneficiaries) of the area served within Newry & Mourne and its surrounding environs in County Down (hereinafter called the “area of benefit”) without distinction of age, gender, marital status, disability, sexual orientation, nationality, ethnic identity, political or religious opinion, by associating the statutory authorities, community and voluntary organisations and the inhabitants in a common effort to advance education, and in particular: a) to advance the education of the beneficiaries by the provision of safe and satisfying group play, with the right of parents/carers to take responsibility for and to become involved in the activities of the group; and to promote the preservation of health of the beneficiaries; and b) to support the values and principles of Early Years.
