Public benefits

Purpose:To promote the benefit of the Polish inhabitants of Newry & District. Polish people in Newry and District receive many benefits through the work of the Polish Families Community Association, these include, but are not restricted to the following: • Opportunities for stronger bonds to develop between people, where friendly relations build

trust and a mutual support network and prevent or reduce social isolation • Better life opportunities. • Opportunities to advance culture and / or education. • Opportunities to engage in more active lifestyles through the provision of health related programmes and activities leading to improvements in both physical and mental well-being. • Opportunities for community to come together to participate and contribute to a vibrant community life and enhanced community spirit. • Opportunities for people to increase skills base / capacity. • Developing people’s confidence and self-esteem to try something new. • Building community knowledge & community development. These benefits will be demonstrated by: • Registration and Evaluation Forms. • Annual Reports • Returns to funders / End of Grant Reports • Achievements / milestones reached by people in the community. • A combination of the above may also bring improvements in people’s employability, physical & mental health/well-being; it may also raise individual aspirations as well as reducing anti-social behaviour, improving community safety and creating less dependence on the State. This Purpose does not give rise to any harm. The benefit is intended primarily for the Polish people living in Newry & District which includes the Newry Neighbourhood Renewal Area with high levels of multiple deprivation. There is no private benefit intended, however, some private benefit may arise to trustees because they may get to learn about various ‘opportunities’ before the rest of the community and may get access to good governance training and gain skills and experience which are transferable to other settings. These benefits are all incidental and necessary.
