Public benefits

Purpose 1 - To educate and assist the beneficiaries through various events including sports and recreational activities so as to develop their physical fitness, mental and emotional capacities that they may grow to full maturity as individuals and citizens; The direct benefit from this purpose is that we are providing opportunities for

marginalised groups such as young people, elderly, minority ethnic groups and persons with a disability to partake in programmes we organise that develop their physical fitness, mental and emotional capacities that they may grow to full maturity as individuals and citizens. Purpose 2 - To advance the education of all participants in the area of benefit by the provision of facilities, courses, training, programmes and resources to enable, assist and encourage the participation of all people within the area of benefit; The direct benefit from this purpose is that we will provide educational opportunities for marginalised groups such as young people, elderly, minority ethnic groups and persons with a disability to partake in educational programmes in which we organise, which will enable people to develop their own skills, learn new skills and be involved more in positive activity within local communities as a whole. Purpose 3 - To advance any other exclusively charitable purpose as the committee may from time to time, decide in accordance with the law of charity. The direct benefit from this purpose is that we will be ready to provide opportunities for disadvantaged groups as and when required. We will identify any issues that we can assist with, through regular community consultation and engagement to ensure our work is benefiting the most marginalized and vulnerable in society. These benefits are evidenced through feedback from beneficiaries through one to one semi structured interviews, questionnaires, informal discussions and group discussions. Further, regular evaluations of each programme element will be conducted by the committee to ascertain programme outcomes and achievements. Further, person's educational progress will be monitored throughout to see if progress has been made through our programmes. Key stakeholders will also be approached to offer feedback- such as facilitators, participants, statutory organisations and management committee members involved in each project implemented. The management committee will also seek a regular independent evaluation of our services. There is no harm arising from our purposes. Our beneficiaries are young people, Persons with a disability, Minority Ethnic groups, the elderly and residents most in need who are living in and around the Dungannon area to include the Mid Ulster council area. There is no private benefit from our purposes.

What your organisation does

Stevenson Community Projects is an active organisation, which carries out a variety of activities and events throughout the year for the benefit of local people living in Dungannon and the wider community. The Association has run successful events for the elderly, most recently running a 6 week "get active programme" for elderly persons who are

living isolated in and around Dungannon. Not only was this a health and fitness programme, but also an opportunity for people to come together and socialise. Many of our events are purely social to build positive relationships between local people within the community. Our programmes also have an educational focus. For example, we are currently implementing an English language speaking programme, which helps minority ethnic groups learn basic English speaking. This helps integrated marginalised groups into society in and around where we are based.
