What your organisation does
Since its inception in March 2016 our group has organised a detailed community audit and from this much energy has been placed on addressing the needs identified. We have organised a number of events to date targeting the different age groups in the community such as senior social events and trips to address social isolation; we initiated an
active club to engage people in physical activity, supporting mental well being at the same time; table quizzes supporting social interaction within the community as many people didn’t know each other prior to our committee being formed. Garvaghey Area Community Association have been working collaboratively and implementing measures with PSNI and Roads Service in addressing road safety on the A5. Research and discussion are ongoing with telecommunications organisations to improve the broadband infrastructure in the area.
