Public benefits

The direct benefits are that truth, justice and reconciliation will be given a helping hand through the work that we carry out. Other benefits that will flow from our group's purpose include improved health outcomes and reduced levels of stress and anxiety. It will encourage victims and survivors to get involved as a community and so reduce

isolation. These benefits will be evidenced through feedback from members and regular independent evaluation of our services. There is no harm flowing from our group's purpose. The beneficiaries are the victims, victims' families and survivors who are suffering or have suffered as a result of the conflict in Northern Ireland. A private benefit to trustees may arise from our programme of ongoing training in good governance, finance etc. Through this training trustees gain skills and experience which are transferrable to other settings. These benefits are incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries.
