Public benefits

The direct benefits which flow from our purposes include opportunities for all children regardless of their social background, ethnicity, religious beliefs or nationality to participate in learning focused play on a regular basis in a safe stimulating environment. Parents/carers are also given the opportunity and are encouraged to avail of training

provided by the establishment which will aid them in the care they can provide their child. By attending the establishment, children benefit through play based learning and the preschool follows the 6 areas of learning as set by the Department of Education. The benefit is demonstrated in enrolment/registration and attendance records. The preschool children benefit as they leave with the skills needed to move onto Primary School education, making this transition an easier experience. Parents/carers and the public in the wider community can benefit by attending training sessions and gaining knowledge that will help them tailor the care they give to the unique needs of every child. Certificates of attendance and qualifications are awarded as appropriate. The risk of harm to children is determined in recorded risk assessments, integrated fully by health and safety procedures and staff training. The beneficiaries are the parents and children living in the Glenarm area attending the pre-school. A private benefit may arise for staff receiving ongoing training and potentially qualifications on child care. However these benefits may be transferable to other settings. These benefits are incidental and necessary to ensure the above benefit is obtained by the intended recipients.
