The direct benefit that flow from the purpose is the promotion of enjoyment and to provide facilities in the interest of social welfare for recreation, entertainment and developing communication skills both for young and old within the Portaferry and surrounding areas. Benefits are evidenced through increasing numbers of people using our services

and from feedback received. Our service involves the provision of one large hall downstairs which seats 300 people, a small hall upstairs with kitchen which seats 80 and another room for small meetings. The charity’s benefits are provided to those people wanting to hire the centre with intention to hold classes to incorporate the local people. There is no private benefit flowing from any of the purposes whilst hiring the centre.

Charitable purposes

The AIMS and OBJECTIVES of the Centre shall be to promote the benefit of the inhabitants of Portaferry, and the surrounding neighbourhood, hereinafter called the area of benefit, without distinction of sex, or of political, religious or other opinions, to provide facilities in the interest of social welfare for recreation and entertainment with the object of improving condition of health and well-being of the said inhabitants. Improve understanding and increase acceptance between different groups within the community. Maintain a financially sustainable organization that will remain active in the community for many years to come.
