Public benefits

The direct benefit that we provide is developing the confidence and capacity of those beneficiaries from areas of social and economic deprivation principally within the Craigavon and Banbridge areas and its rural hinterlands, we provide safe and neutral facilities for our membership to use for meetings or training courses with various educational

or government bodies. Another public benefit is the delivery of arts based activities through the provision of quizzes, concerts, murder mysteries, raffles, cabaret evenings, dances and any other social events we feel appropriate to raise funds to carry out our charitable works in the ABC Community. For example one of the benefits given was an afternoon Tea Party with entertainment for all the OAP’s in the Scarva & District Community area. We deliver a myriad of social and intergenerational events aimed at tackling marginalisation of hard to reach people and communities therefore building a healthy, outward and confident looking community. We create awareness around greater social issues and create innovative ways to address those issues by leveraging all resources at our disposal and by creating volunteering opportunities. The benefit is evidenced by word of mouth and on occasion written surveys from the attendees and feedback after using the Centre from the organisational bodies. This purpose does not lead to any harm. The benefit is for all inhabitants within our catchment areas. A private benefit flowing from this is that a trustee or family member may use our facilities or programs or in same manner as all other members, this is purely incidental and necessary, so that the benefit is available to all.
