Public benefits
The direct benefits are to keep older people from the Charlemont and Cranagill area socially active through the provision of recreational and leisure time activities. This is in the interest of social welfare and is designed to improve their conditions of life and to ensure that the older people within the area of benefit maintain a healthy mind
and body. Our members enjoy the monthly meetings through the provision of refreshments and the engagement of speakers and facilitators in a range of subjects including crafts. We also provide a number of outings and opportunities for networking for members. The benefits can be demonstrated through the numbers of people that attend and continue to support the Club. We record attendance at each monthly meeting and we also regularly ask members for feedback on the range of activities we provide. Our members are actively involved in the development of our programme of activity. There is no harm arising from the purposes. The beneficiaries of the charity are anyone over the age of 50. As all our Trustees are members of the group there is a private benefit to them, however they receive no additional benefits that any other member does not receive. This benefit is incidental.
