The public benefits that flow from the purpose of advancing education are: (i) increased knowledge of health-related matters and ways of leading healthier lives; (ii) the attainment of enhanced skills and performance in sports and other physical activities. The public benefits that flow from the purpose of providing facilities for recreation and
community development are: (i) enhanced quality of life and sense of well-being through engagement with and participation in activities and events that bring people together, leading to improvements in physical and emotional well-being, quality of life and a more stable and cohesive community; (ii) enhanced accessibility to free or affordable facilities and amenities; (iii) the provision of opportunities for active, positive citizenship and involvement in community life; (iv) increased efficiency and effectiveness of community and voluntary groups and organisations, resulting in enhanced outcomes and service delivery and consequently an improved quality of life for those who benefit from the work of these groups and organisations; (v) increased opportunities to access the arts; (vi) enhanced quality of life and sense of well-being through engagement with and participation in creative artistic events and activities. These benefits can be demonstrated through evaluations of the work and impact of the Association and feedback from the participants in, and attendees at, activities and events There is no harm arises from these purposes. The beneficiaries are the general public. There is no private benefit arising from the purposes.
What your organisation does
The Association manages the Community Hall where concerts and performances that are produced by the local Knocks drama group are put on for members of the community. Health-related education courses are organised, particularly relating to CPR and Chest Heart and Stroke and coaching is provided at foundation level in various sports and other
physical activities. Many local groups and clubs use the facilities provided at the Hall.
