Public benefits

The benefits which flow from our organisation's purposes are education for children under statutory school age and promotion of the preservation of health of the beneficiaries in Lisburn and it's surrounding environs in County Antrim. Better preparation of children for primary school, integration with other children will develop social skills,

increased knowledge through the six areas of the pre-school curriculum-the arts, language, early maths, physical development, the world around us and personal, social and emotional development. Building of self-confidence, creativity and problem solving skills also promotion of healthy eating by provision of a healthy snack daily. These benefits are evidenced through feedback from parents/carers of the beneficiaries and also by ongoing inspection and evaluation of our services by independent and governmental educational bodies. There is no harm arising from any of the purposes. The charity's beneficiaries are pre-school children and children from 2yrs 10 up until pre-school age. There is no private benefit flowing from any of the purposes.

What your organisation does

Grove Community Playgroup offers pre-school places for up to 16 children and in addition can provide Pre-Pre sessions for up to 16 children ages 2yrs 10 months up until pre-school age. Pre-school runs from 9:20am-12 noon Monday to Friday while the Pre-Pre school (Playgroup) runs 2 afternoons per week. Monday and Tuesday 12.30pm- 2.30pm.

Charitable purposes

The group is established to promote play based learning environments for all children under statutory school age, (hereinafter referred to as the beneficiaries) of the Lisburn and it's surrounding environs in County Antrim, (hereinafter called the 'area of benefit') without distinction of age, gender, marital status, disability, sexual orientation, nationality, ethnic identity, political or religious opinion, by associating the statutory authorities, community and voluntary organisations and the inhabitants in a common effort to advance education and in particular: a) to advance the education of the beneficiaries by the provision of safe and satisfying group play, with the right of parents/carers to take responsibility for and to become involved in the activities of the group and to promote the preservation of health of the beneficiaries; and b) to support the values and principles of Early Years.
