Public benefits
What are the direct benefits flowing from your organisation's purposes? The direct benefits flowing from the purposes are that the residents have come together as a working group and have formed a community led action group for the upkeep and maintenance of the alleyways. As well as now actively maintaining the alleyways, and having a cleaner
neighbourhood and a pride in their neighbourhood, a very notable direct benefit is that residents are actually getting to know their neighbours after living beside them for years and not communicating. How can the benefits identified above be demonstrated? The benefits are demonstrated through direct action, as residents, business owners in the area and landlords attend committee meetings, they plan actions such as tidy ups, delivering door to door advice, campaigning leaflets and following through with direct action, publicity has been garnered through local media and information has been made available through a local facebook page Waterside Alley invites interested residents to become members or to receive more information by emailing watersidealleyways@gmail.com Feed back from the community has been very positive, through speaking to people in the area and local businesses there is a renewed interest and sense of pride in the area, as many people feel they are taking ownership in their own environment. Is there any harm arising from any of the purposes? There is no harm flowing from the purposes. Who are the charity's beneficiaries? The beneficiaries are the volunteers, the residents, local business owners, tenants, visitors and landlords. Is there any private benefit flowing from any of the purposes? Is it incidental and necessary? The beneficiaries are the volunteers, the residents, local business owners, tenants, visitors and landlords.
