Whilst a public benefit statement has been provided the Commission has relied on other evidence to satisfy itself that the public benefit requirement has been met. Purpose 1 means that there is a vibrant close-knit community which is inclusive of all sectors, youth, middle age and older people. Purpose 2 the establishment and maintenance of a

community hall makes purpose 1 possible Purpose 3 is met through the promotion of charitable events to raise funding for needy causes e.g. Operation Romania Through meeting in the hall younger members get to know and offer assistance to older members in the community. Activities like painting and grass cutting are offered as well as assisting older persons with shopping. The local community also looks towards the wider needy community by organising fundraising events. Harm: No Beneficiaries: Every member of the Bright Community who wants to avail of the Community Hall for a specific function or activity. Young people who engage in sporting activities and training. Dancing Groups Slimming Groups All ages - Bingo Sessions Bereaved families - refreshments after funerals Senior Citizens who enjoy special events like a social evening with supper and entertainment Operation Romania - fundraising events Local Primary School Private Benefit: Financially - no Reducing loneliness - yes

What your organisation does

1 The Board of Directors meet at least 6 times a year. 2 It evaluates the effectiveness of the activities conducted in the hall since the previous meeting. 3 It considers proposals for future activities 4 it monitors and assesses the current financial situation while considering the implications of ongoing maintenance. 5 It ensures that proper

standards are in place and complied with in accordance with Health & Safety (including Safeguarding).

Charitable purposes

The objects of the Association are to: a) promote the benefit of the inhabitants of Bright and the neighbourhood (herein after called “the area of benefit”) without distinction of sex, sexual orientation ,race or of political, religious ,or other opinions, by associating together the said inhabitants and the local authorities ,voluntary ,and other organisations in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities in the interest of social welfare for recreational and leisure-time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants; b) establish, or secure the establishment of, a Community Centre (hereinafter called “the centre”) and to maintain and manage the same (whether alone or in co-operation with any local authority or other person or body) in furtherance of these objects. c) promote such other charitable purposes as may from time to time be determined.
