Public benefits

Purpose 1: The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include: our childcare enables parents to go to work or training which increases their economic situation and improves their health and well being; parents are content that their children are well looked after by trained staff again improving their emotional well being and because we have

a lot of staff we are able to cover sickness and leave thus ensuring continuity of care; as we are a not for profit organisation families have the benefit of a reasonable fee structure. Children are more socially aware and can interact with others of their own age, this promotes their learning and awareness of the world around them. Provision of this services frees parents and grandparents from childcare responsibilities and enables them to work/learn/socialise. The childcare facility also provides employment for local people. Purpose 2:The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include: children have a supportive environment in which to develop their physical, psychological and social skills; physical activity increases physical health and emotional well being; peer interaction leads to improved social skills; the wide variety of resources we have stimulates the child’s interest and development thus increasing cognition. The early years environment can detect a child’s additional needs and early intervention can give these children the best start with parents being signposted to appropriate services. Purpose 1:These benefits will be evidenced by: uptake of our places – there are few vacancies; verbal feedback from parents; regular uptake of childcare vouchers; return custom; comment box; geographical spread of customers. Purpose 2:These benefits will be evidenced by: the quality of the service can be seen in social services reports, Education and Training Inspectorate (dept Education) reports; uptake of places with families travelling from afar for the service; feedback through questionnaires; comment box; verbal feedback to staff. We do not anticipate harm leading from this purpose. There is a small risk of accidents when children are playing but we have robust risk assessment procedures, most of the staff have first aid training, we have adequate insurance cover and there is an accident reporting procedure if something happens. The charity’s beneficiaries are people within the Eskra, Omagh and neighbouring districts. Purpose 1:There is no private benefit flowing from this purpose. Purpose 2:The only private benefit flowing from this purpose is that a trustee whose child is applying for a pre school place, in the event of over subscription, will have preference in the pre school admissions criteria over others. This benefit is incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries.
