Public benefits

The direct benefits includes a great improvement of the local environment, both the village green and the social housing areas. The direct benefit includes providing leisure/recreational events for the area which otherwise would not have been possible to hold. The direct benefits include liaising with the statuary bodies on behalf of the local

inhabitants and those in the surrounding district The benefits can be demonstrated by the practical assistance given to the young, elderly and people with disabilities. The benefits can be seen by locals/visitors arising from our environmental efforts. Winners of Ulster in Bloom 17 times and Winners of Britain in Bloom twice and finalists on other occasions. There is no harm arising from the purpose. The charity's beneficiaries would be the local inhabitants and all those within at least a mile and half radius of the village. Visitors would also benefit from the environmental efforts. There is no private benefit flowing from the purpose.

What your organisation does

We liaise on behalf of the community and surrounding district, with the appropriate statutory bodies and agencies to address the issues that are "flagged up" to the committee. We use the press, public meetings and social media to help raise awareness of and to gain support for our fundraising activities.

Charitable purposes

The Association is established to relieve poverty, youth and the aged and promote the protection and preservation of health and to promote the benefit of the inhabitants of Scarva and its environs of Co Down. Without distinction of age, gender, sexuality, nationality, ethnic identity, disability, political or religious opinion, by associating the statutory authorities, voluntary and the inhabitants in a common effort to advance education, and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation or other leisure-time occupation, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants.
