Public benefits
The direct benefits are: We will improve the overall mental health and wellbeing of our members through training and awareness which will lead to an improved quality of life and reduction in social isolation. We will improve self confidence and self acceptance in those affected by mother and baby institutions. We will reduce the level of Trauma
associated with victims of Mother and Baby Homes and their extended families. We will be restoring self-pride and dignity to people and motivating them to engage socially since many have became introverted and isolated. We will reinvigorate and revitalise their love and energy for life which will naturally have extremely positive impact and ramifications on their physical, mental and emotional health and well-being. These benefits are demonstrated in the achievement of recognised qualifications such as listening ear, provision of counselling and information services, and by reports given by members in person or in writing. There is no harm accruing from any of these purposes. The beneficiaries are charity members, direct and indirect family members. There is no private benefit and all volunteers are included in the target group of clients.
What your organisation does
Our organisation meet regularly to organise training and events to improve the health and well being of members. We provide a listening ear service to victims and survivors of mother and baby homes where we reduce the effects of trauma affected by those directly or indirectly associated with Mother and Baby homes. We engage with statutory and
voluntary organisations to address the implications of injustice to our members.
