The direct benefits which flow the purposes of Upper Lough Erne Tourism Development Association include: -All age groups participate in organised events which raise awareness of cultural and recreational activities, -Receiving and welcoming visiting tourists to the area, -Increasing sense of community and citizens wellbeing as a result of
contributing to and participating in the organised events, -The creation of two jobs in a tourist information office, -Greater access to training opportunities for the employees and volunteers in tourism, - Increased awareness of the natural and built environment with the local community and visitors, -The publishing of literature which illustrates the natural and cultural environment and organised events which use venues of historical significance or natural environment of the upper lough Erne, which encourages visitors to the area, -Inviting representatives of the local community associations to an information forum creating opportunities for gathering information relating to community events and to sharing good practice and common challenges, -Increased co-operation and partnerships between community and voluntary groups, public and statutory agencies and private sector organisations by means of liaison and building relationships between the charity and these bodies These benefits can be demonstrated by: - The number of citizens and visitors demonstrating satisfaction and enjoyment in the organised events, - The number of people who gained a certificate of accreditation in the World Host programme, - The number of organised events in local historical houses, the islands of upper lough Erne. - Networking opportunities for community association representatives - The number of events attended by the charity where working relationships are made with community, voluntary groups, with public and statutory agencies and local businesses. There is no harm arising from any of the purposes The charity’s beneficiaries are the citizens and visitors of the area of benefit; The persons who participated in the training opportunities; The local businesses who benefit from indirect advertising in the publication of the map and information document for Upper Lough Erne; Local community representatives; The Charity by means of creating working relationships to help achieve its Objects. The only private benefits flowing from these purposes are: 1.) The salary for a researcher and this is incidental and necessary because the services of a professional researcher are required to carry out the environmental audit, 2.) The working partnership created with community, voluntary groups, public and statutory agencies and this is incidental and necessary because it helps to achieve the Charity’s purposes.

1 To sustain and improve the local economy through the promotion of tourism and opportunities for cultural and recreational activities for all age groups. 2 To promote employment and training opportunities, particularly in the tourism sector. 3 To promote sustainable development for the benefit of the public and the local community by: (a)
protecting and enhancing the natural and built environment (b) promoting sustainable means of achieving economic growth and regeneration 4 To raise awareness of the public regarding the natural environment, culture, history and heritage of the Upper Lough Erne area by providing information and advice to local inhabitants and visitors. 5 To provide and maintain a Forum to facilitate the adoption of good practice and where members can join together to exchange views, share common issues and information. 6 To promote co-operation and partnership working between community and voluntary groups, public and statutory agencies and bodies and private sector organisations to help achieve these Objects (“purposes”).
