Public benefits

The direct benefits that flow from this purpose is that the children and their families living in the isolated area of Flying Station Aldergrove and the wider community have accessibility to a range of flexible, quality childcare and education for their children in a safe, stimulating learning environment which delivers a broad and balanced early

years curriculum which promotes progression in the children's learning and development both indoors and outdoors. We promote awareness of Children's early learning through workshops for parents/carers. Parents/carers have an opportunity to be involved in their children's learning by serving on the management committee and fund raising activities. Improved learning outcomes are evidenced through regular recorded observations on the children which show progression in the children's learning and development and also identifies areas where a child may need additional support. Support for individual children is sought through working in partnership with parents and a range of outside professionals. Individuals Learning Plans are drawn up to support children with additional needs. An Early Years Specialist from Early Years The Organisation for Young Children of which we are members visits the Nursery monthly and provides written reports. We have a excellent report through our annual inspection from the Trust and we have most recently received an outstanding grade following our Education and Training Inspectorate Inspection. Feedback from parents both verbally through visits to the Nursery and through questionnaires. Social integration for children and their families as many do not have extended families living in Northern Ireland. Policies and procedure are in place, regular risk assessments are carried out and on-going staff training and development ensure that no harm arises from the purpose of the charity. The charity's beneficiaries are the children and the families of service personnel who live at Flying Station in Aldergrove Co Antrim and children and families living in the wider community. There is no private benefit flowing from any of the purposes of the organisation.

What your organisation does

ABC Day Nursery is a cross community setting which provides quality accessible provision to children aged 0-11years and promotes excellence through a provision of a wraparound service. We are a key service for the local community providing education and welfare support to children and families of service personnel who live at the military base in

Aldergrove Co Antrim, services are also available to families in the wider community. We provide a safe, caring and stimulating educational learning environment both indoors and out which supports the children's learning through a wide range of play experiences. Through our programme of planned activities we deliver a broad balanced curriculum to meet the needs of all the children to encourage them to reach their full potential. We build upon the learning that the children have already experienced at home and we value parents/carers as the children's first educators. We ensure equality of opportunity, recognise, value and respect all families with young children who use our service.
