The direct benefits which flow from purpose 1 include enabling those who work with children and young people to provide a range of outdoor play opportunities within their setting and to have an understanding of the playwork theory to back up what they are doing. Children – children benefit from our practical play sessions by engaging in outdoor
play this is beneficial to physical and mental health, it provides children with time to work through issues/concerns/problems they may be experiencing and they are allowed time to engage in physical health with benefits their overall health and well-being. They learn new skills, their communication skills are developed, they learn to problem solve and to use their imagination and creativity while playing. Adults – learn new theory that they can bring back to their setting and put into practice. They develop confidence in their own ability and they learn new games and new ideas on how to help the children and young people they work with be creative and active in their play. The training sessions can also deepen their understanding of playwork theory and how this impacts on their practice These benefits are evidenced through feedback from children and young people within the settings and also settings booking us to deliver training and play sessions. The purpose of our charity does not lead to harm. In order to ensure there is no harm all staff are fully trained and have completed a risk benefit for all activities provided during training and the outdoor play sessions. The charity's beneficiaries are the children and young people we work directly with when delivering the outdoor play sessions. The staff and volunteers who attend our training courses and who are present during the play sessions are also beneficiaries. The only private benefit flowing from this purpose is the staff who deliver the play sessions and training are paid and this is incidental and necessary as they are the experts in their field and without them the charity would be unable to do their work.
What your organisation does
We provide outdoor play sessions within the setting of a childcare organisation. During these play sessions we provide a wide range of materials and demonstrate to staff how easy it is to engage children in a range of activities, using resources that do not cost a lot of money. We work with staff to educate and support them to provide similar
experiences within their setting when we are not there. We develop and design training courses to suit and meet the needs of the learners. These courses are designed to support, educate and inform those with a keen interest in children's play and enable them to reevaluate their provision and introduce new ideas and ways of working with children and young people in their care.

Charitable purposes
(1) To enhance the development of outdoor play experiences of children in Northern Ireland (the “area of benefit”) by developing and supporting the provision of children’s play primarily by: (a) improving the quality, diversity and accessibility of provision and opportunities for outdoor play in the area of benefit; (b) securing greater recognition of the fundamental importance of outdoor play in the growth and development of children; (c) advancing the education of those working in the field of children’s outdoor play; (d) promoting co-operation and co-ordination between play providers and play specialists in the area of benefit; (e) providing training, advice, support and consultancy services to any persons, groups, organisations or agencies interested in childcare and/or playwork. (2) Promoting such other charitable purposes as may from time to time be determined.
