The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include prevention of homelessness and ensuring local people have a decent, safe and affordable place to live. These benefits are evidenced through:- (i) our outcome/impact measurement framework; (ii) achieving our strategic objectives; (iii) feedback from clients; (iv) regular independent

evaluation of our services; and (v) quality Standards such as Lexcel and Investors in People. There is no harm arising from our purpose. The charity's beneficiaries are people who are homeless or in housing need in Northern Ireland. There is no private benefit flowing from this purpose.

What your organisation does

We improve lives by tackling homelessness and housing problems in Northern Ireland. Through the provision of our current services, which include:- - A Housing Advice line for agency staff and members of the public - Online housing advice and information (www.housingadviceni.org) - Advocacy and legal representation work - A Housing Possession Court

Duty Scheme (Emergency help at court) - Training and events for housing and advice professionals - Providing information resources on housing law and practice in Northern Ireland - Client based policy comment - A specialist housing advice service within the prisons in NI - A Community Housing Advice Partnership with generalist advice agencies throughout NI - A specialist mediation service for registered properties within the Private Rented Sector - A specialist advice, advocacy and mediation service for Young People (18-25 years olds) -

Charitable purposes

The Charity's objects are to promote the following purposes for the public benefit: 1. The relief of poverty and the relief of those in need by reason of youth, age, ill health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage; and in particular to assist those persons with necessitous circumstances in relation to housing matters; and 2. such other exclusively charitable purpose according to the Law of Northern Ireland as the Directors may from time to time decide.
