Public benefits
ACTS Ministries provides funding in support of native church workers to advance religion. This enables access to teaching/counselling/welfare support and provision of worship to Christian communities. Through the provision of grants to third parties ACTS Ministries is able to bring the relief of poverty to communities facing floods, storms
etc. ACTS Ministries funding to third parties helps those people who are disadvantaged. (i.e. children and adults with physical and learning difficulties). They are protected from abuse, loved, cared and treated with dignity. The funding provides comfortable accommodation, good food daily, medicines and medical assistance when needed. Specific monthly funding from ACTS Ministries supports the work of Little Hearts Organisation as they care for these children and adults with physical and learning difficulties. ACTS Ministries provides funding to advance education through the Little Buds School. The school provides education for children from 4 to 12 who come mainly from the local slum area. This provision gives the children the opportunity to reach their full potential. The benefits above are confirmed by the trustees, committee members and supporters of the charity during their visits to the area of benefit in India. They meet with staff and the people in receipt of the support. In addition we request photographs of the complete projects and an audit form signed by the leaders confirming that the funds have been spent correctly. If necessary we request copy invoices and receipts. We do not estimate that any harm will result from provision of these purposes. Children from a slum area, Children and adults with physical and learning difficulties. Pastors and School teachers and members of the local church. There is no private benefit flowing from these purposes.
What your organisation does
ACTS Ministries operates as a charity with 3 trustees and 6 committee members. We meet regularly to discuss the income to the charity and also how best to raise further funds to meet the demands of the area of benefit. The charity has a very strict policy regarding funds and there is always a specific purpose for the amount sent. In addition we
require a returned audit form from the organisation in receipt of the funds, stipulating that the funds have been spent in accordance with the agreed support. This audit has to have the signatures of two people. Failure to return this audit in a reasonable time frame results in monthly support being suspended. Almost every year the trustees and / or committee members visit the areas of benefit, at their own cost, to verify the use of funds and also to encourage the leaders of the organisations. Funds are raised by direct giving from our supporters and also from a sponsorship program. In addition we send out a Newsletter twice per year to inform the friends and supporters of the projects that are underway and those that require funding. We also visit Youth Clubs, Churches, Men’s and Women’s organisations to tell them about the work of ACTS Ministries and the organisations we support. We often take out volunteers to the area of benefit and we discover that on their return they become good ambassadors for the charity raising much need funds.
